Roxbury Weston Preschool has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children for over 25 years. The preschool creates an open and intentional environment of cultural, socio-economic, linguistic, and cognitive diversity.

Our teachers set forth an intentional curriculum that fosters the understanding of kindness, acceptance, and the celebration of differences. The staff, in cooperation with parents, nurture children’s development, anticipate their growth, and share their efforts and successes. Classrooms are designed to offer children security to work and play in a safe, happy and stimulating environment. Roxbury Weston Preschool recognizes the developmental needs of the whole child with equal emphasis placed on physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth. Teachers design the curriculum to meet each child’s interests and needs, understanding that each child learns at his or her own pace and in his or her own way and time.

Roxbury Weston teachers work diligently to align the standards, curriculum, instruction, and assessments within and across the preschool years through 3rd grade to bridge the early (PK) and elementary (1st-3rd) education experiences. This supports our children in learning the skills they require to succeed in school and in life. The standards, curriculum, instruction and assessments focus on social competence and self-discipline as well as academic skills. This quality of education has an enormous impact on a child’s lifelong learning and positively contributes to their health and development with a greater readiness for success in school and life. Two doctoral candidates from different institutions have conducted research at the preschool exploring curriculum content and methodology. Our program is a school, not a daycare and we pride ourselves on creating a learning environment that reflects and fosters that strong and enriching preschool learning model. We follow the Weston Public School calendar. We are open from September to June.
