Roxbury Weston Programs was born in 1965 in response to the Civil Rights Movement and the need for quality educational experiences for all children. In 1965, during the civil rights movement, Roxbury Weston Programs was founded as a summer camp program by families from Roxbury and Weston, and became a preschool in 1966 -- building bridges between urban and suburban communities. Today, with sites in Roxbury and Weston, the not-for-profit Roxbury Weston Programs provides varied educational experiences and serves families from Dorchester, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Lincoln, Mattapan, Roslindale, Roxbury, Sudbury, Waltham, Wayland, Wellesley and Weston.
The mission of Roxbury Weston Programs is to bring families together in a learning community dedicated to the celebration of diversity and excellence in early care and education. Roxbury Weston Programs Preschool, located at 349 Boston Road in Weston, proudly displays the NAEYC torch, a sign of NAEYC Accreditation. Families who look for the torch when choosing a program for their children will find programs that have made a commitment to excellence for young children and families.
